Ryan Hancock has established himself as a consistent podium contender in SCORE's premier desert racing series, earning back-to-back podium finishes at the legendary Baja 500. The 50-year-old Yuma, Arizona native captured third place in his class at the 2023 SCORE Baja 500, following up his impressive second-place class finish at the same event in 2021. These achievements demonstrate his ability to perform at the highest level in one of off-road racing's most demanding competitions.
Hancock's success comes during an era of unprecedented technological advancement in desert racing, as the sport continues evolving with AWD trophy trucks and increasingly sophisticated machinery. His consistent performance in the Baja 500 – often considered the ultimate test of both man and machine across Baja California's unforgiving terrain – places him among the elite competitors who understand that winning in Baja requires not just speed, but the reliability and endurance to survive the brutal desert conditions.
With multiple podium finishes under his belt, Hancock represents the dedication and skill required to compete at SCORE's championship level, where only the most prepared and talented racers reach the finish line, let alone the podium.

This included Jeff Bader who qualified third, Ryan Hancock in fourth, and Clay Lawrence who started in fifth place. Read More
For the 26 SCORE TT Spec competitors at the BFGoodrich Tires 53rd SCORE Baja 500 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts, the silt was perhaps their biggest challenge. Many got stuck or slowly pushed through the deep areas of silt where competitors caught up to each other and fought to get out in the fastest time. No one knew this better than Jason Coleman in the No. 292 Herbst/Smith Chevy. Coleman started the race first after winning the class in the SCORE San Felipe 250, but got high-centered early in the race, losing his position on the course. At race mile 47, the team got caught deep in the silt and took more than two hours to get out. Read More
