Fresh off his triumph at the 2024 SCORE Baja 400 Presented by VP Racing, Bryce Menzies continues building on an extraordinary championship legacy that has defined modern Trophy Truck racing. The 38-year-old Las Vegas native dominated the 2023 season with an unprecedented sweep of all three major SCORE races, capturing overall victories at the BFGoodrich SCORE Baja 1000, K&N SCORE Baja 400, and BFGoodrich SCORE Baja 500.
Menzies' remarkable journey began in 2010 when he purchased a Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck and immediately showed his versatility by winning his first Baja 500 in 2011 while simultaneously earning Rookie of the Year honors and the Trophy Truck points championship. This pattern of instant success has followed him throughout his career, from his early motocross days to dominating short course racing with TORC series championships in 2012 and 2013.
His three overall SCORE Baja 500 victories (2011, 2012, 2014) place him among desert racing's elite, earning recognition in SCORE's 50th anniversary publication alongside legends like Ivan Stewart and Larry Roeseler. Menzies represents the new generation of internationally-recognized desert racers, combining technical precision with the fearless driving style that has made him a crowd favorite throughout Baja California.
Congratulations Bryce Menzies, for winning the 34th annual SCORE San Felipe 250!
The 5th SCORE Baja 400 Presented by VP Racing brought exciting off-road motorsports action, drama, and heartbreak, but was also a history making event for several racers and teams who competed. Read More
By no means was the 2023 SCORE World Desert Championship a sure thing for Bryce Menzies, even though he was leading the points chase going into the 56th SCORE Baja 1000. A few other drivers, such as Rob MacCachren or Luke McMillin, could have earned the champ title if the results of that last race of the season had been different. Read More
The roar of 900+ horsepower engines signaled the start of the SCORE Trophy Trucks for the 3rd SCORE Baja 400 Presented by VP Racing Fuels. With Luke McMillin starting first followed by Bryce Menzies, racers in this class knew the pace would be fast and that they would have to take more chances on the course to be able to stay within passing range of these two top competitors. McMillin got a flat around race mile 70, allowing Menzies to pass and take the lead for the rest of the race. There were some issues with the Stella system so Menzies wasn’t always showing up on the SCORE Live Tracking, but visual spotters reported he was in the lead. “We started out pretty smooth, just trying to chase Luke (McMillin) down,” said Bryce Menzies. “And then from there, we just held him behind us with about a two and half-minute gap and just wanted to keep him there in case we had any issues to be able to get out in front of him again.” Read More
At the start of the 3rd SCORE Baja 400 presented by VP Racing Fuels, Bryce Menzies had just qualified to start first, and while it was obvious that his time on the short but savage qualifying track was lightning fast and superbly driven, it was not yet clear exactly where in the Baja 400’s deck of cards Menzies would be shuffled. As with any SCORE Baja race, it's ultimately anyone's to win. No matter how fast or conservative you are, it still takes luck, skill, and a vehicle that can survive the harsh course. In this class, some racers prefer to push their vehicles to the limits, risking everything for a win, while others lay back like predators, waiting for an opportunity for a competitor to make a mistake, and pounce ahead for the win. A peninsula run from Ensenada to La Paz, Mexico only happens every few years, and for many of the SCORE Trophy Truck racers, they had been waiting since 2017 for another. This year, teams took no chances and many partnered with some of the best racers in both 2WD and AWD vehicles, trying to stack the odds in their favor.. Read More
